Nuke plan truth in skyline - The West Australian

On the drive back from Collie last week it struck me just why Peter Dutton's nuclear plan is so concerning for West Australians.

Heading home on the Kwinana Freeway after a day of talking to energy workers and community leaders in Collie I saw our city skyline. The names of Australia's largest resources companies illuminate Perth.

It struck me that if the CEO of any of those companies had done what Peter Dutton did, they would be sacked before the day is out.

Doorstop interview - Collie

JODIE HANNS, STATE MEMBER FOR COLLIE-PRESTON: I'll start by saying thank you very much to Patrick Gorman, who is representing Prime Minister Albanese here today. He's come down to Collie to look at the local perspective around the recent announcement of the Liberal Party. But today we've spent a lot of time meeting with members of the Just Transition Working Group who've been working incredibly hard since 2018 on Just Transition and providing a renewables focused future and a green energy future for Collie beyond the coal industry. So thank you, Patrick.

Statement - Reverend Dr Gondarra

It was with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Rev Dr Gondarra in the Northern Territory and offer our deepest sympathies to his family, community and loved ones.

A Yolŋu man and lawman of his Dhurili clan in north-east Arnhem Land, he was Australia's first ever Aboriginal Methodist minister.

A trailblazer for justice and better outcomes for his people, he was an incredible leader and advocate for the Yolŋu people, and for truth-telling and treaty.

He instilled an enormous sense of pride in Yolŋu people for their language, law and culture.

Regional Capitals Alliance of WA Government Forum and Networking lunch - Perth

An enduring commitment to Western Australia

As I said last year, the Government’s dedication to regional Australia — and WA — is unfailing.

I know what you know: the West is the best.

Our commitment starts at the top.

The Prime Minister knows Western Australia well.

Before the last election, he said he would visit our state ten times each year.

And he has kept his word.

In the two years since the election, he has visited WA 21 times.

And he has brought the entire Federal Cabinet with him on three of those occasions.
