These awards tell our national story.
But unlike most of what we do in politics, we don't do it through reports and statistics.
We tell that story through our people.
And in a world where things can feel very divided, these awards truly bring people together.
I believe that every Western Australian is a great Australian, but if I can particularly pay respect to Brother Olly for his outstanding service as Senior Australian of the Year this year.
And what we've seen tonight are some of the very best of Australia.

Better digital access means better access to learning, health care and other essential services, especially for people in remote communities.
FLOYD DOYLE, HOST: Now we have someone special in the studio with us at the moment who is in town here and we are going to find out why. Senator Malarndirri McCarthy, Minister for Indigenous Australians and Senator for the Northern Territory. Good afternoon Senator, how are you?
MALARNDIRRI McCARTHY, MINISTER FOR INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIANS: Good afternoon. A big shout‑out to all your listeners wherever they might be.It's lovely to be here on CAAMA radio.
STEWART BRASH, HOST: Yesterday, the feds were in town to open extra accommodation for families at the visitor park on Len Kittle Drive. They're also announcing more detail on their $8.5 million package for local tourism with the launch of the $1 million Alice Springs Revival and Resilience Grant program. Now, these grants are designed to help the region's economy, which has slumped, as we know, in recent years, over the spiralling crime in the region and cost of living pressures, making the centre an expensive option to visit.
The Alice Springs ice rink is set to make a return this summer as part of a free school holiday program in Central Australia, funded through the Albanese Government’s A Better, Safer Future for Central Australia (Central Australia Plan).
The six-week program will offer a wide range of free activities designed to engage young people, delivered in partnership with the Alice Springs Town Council.
Building on the success of previous holiday programs, activities will include 3x3 basketball, African drum workshops, waterslides, free movies and ten pin bowling.
