Practical skills to create healthy homes in Central Australia
The Albanese Labor Government is strengthening families and communities in Central Australia through a new $4.9 million program to build home and life skills.
The Safe and Healthy Homes Skills Development Program will deliver hands-on and practical support to build useful skills in areas like cooking, meal preparation, home maintenance and parenting.
The goal of the new community-led program is to support healthier homes and safer families across Central Australia, supporting the remote communities of Papunya, Haasts Bluff, and Mt Liebig.
Delivered by Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation, the program reflects the Government’s commitment to meet community need by co-designing programs with remote and rural communities.
This program is funded through the $30 million Strengthening Families and Communities Partnership, part of the Government’s A Better, Safer Future for Central Australia Plan.
