The APS Professions model is a staff capability building initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and expertise across the APS.

The Evaluation Profession will improve APS capability in rigorous impact evaluation, including randomised trials.

The APS Professions model has already significantly improved APS capability in Human Resources, Data and Digital specialist expertise within the APS.

The model continues to evolve, ensuring targeted training and professional development within the APS aligns with the expectations of the Australian people.

This initiative is part of the broader APS Reform agenda to ensure that our Australian public service has capability to do its job well, and to deliver for every Australian.

Investing in these new Professions prepares the APS to meet future challenges and to adapt to developments in the way government serves the Australian people.
