The Albanese Government is continuing to support former members of the collapsed Youpla Group.

The Youpla Group Funeral Benefits Program has been extended and will now accept applications until 30 June 2024.

The Program, which was announced as an interim measure in the weeks after the election of the Albanese Government, pays a grant in place of a funeral benefit that would otherwise have been paid by the Youpla Group before its collapse.

The Government is committed to an enduring resolution to the Youpla Group collapse, however the process has been more complex than expected. By extending the interim Program, we are giving former Youpla Group customers certainty while the final details of the enduring resolution are worked through.

Payments are made to eligible beneficiaries of Youpla Group policy holders who had an active funeral policy on or after 1 April 2020.

Since the program started on 7 September 2022, it has approved over 325 grants with a total value of over $2.6 million, enabling hundreds of First Nations families to mourn their loved ones.

For more information about the Program and how to apply you can visit treasury.gov.au/Youpla or call 1800 296 989.
